Vastu principles for height , weight and open space allocation in a constructed plot
Vastu Shastra principles can have a significant impact on a person’s life according to how these are followed while constructing any building .
Once a plot of land is evaluated and found to be good for construction, the following must be kept in mind while designing the architectural layout to maximize and enhance the positive flow of air and sunlight into the building.
1. Height and weight allocation
2. Open space allocation
The height , weight and space allocation in a residential building is done according to the Direction and its Element , Ruling Planet and Lord of the direction.
If we apply the Vastu principles to allow positive air and sunlight flow , then we see significant positive outcomes in our health , prosperity, family relations, career etc .
And there can be negative impact also in case we end up with some of the key principles not being followed .
Height and Space allocation basic guideline
1. The North , North East and East should be least in height and weight as the positive energy passing through these directions must not be blocked
2. The South west should be the maximum in height and weight as this direction represents stability.
Open Space allocation basic guideline
1. The North , North East and East must have maximum open space , allowing the morning sun rays to freely flow into the house. These rays are very beneficial for overall physical and mental health .
2. The South West , South and West should have the least open space .
Eg – In an east facing plot
The East , North , North east should be kept largely open and minimum height and weight when constructed . Best use is if the open to sky area in these directions is used for making a lawn , portico , underground tank etc. and the constructed area can be used as Pooja room , study room , living room or children/ senior citizen room.
